Section 1. Overview

I’ve been actively involved as a buyer and owner of various types of commercial real estate throughout the United States since 1987.

For the past 26 years, I’ve been an enthusiastic student of the Bible, referencing back to the meaning of the original Hebrew and Greek words. Over these years, I’ve found many hidden gems in the Bible which have helped me tremendously on my personal journey of growing closer in my relationship with God. By hidden gems, I mean things not commonly taught in the church on Sunday morning, but that are important…even critical …to a deeper understanding of what God wants people to know. My intent is that this website helps people on their personal journey with God.

Section 2. My Business Experience

Beginning in 2006 and continuing through December 31, 2011, I was Founder, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Cornerstone Institutional Growth Reit, Inc. (the “Company”). The Company acquired healthcare real estate throughout the United States. The Company later changed its name to Cornerstone Healthcare Plus REIT, Inc., and on January 1, 2012, to Sentio Healthcare Properties, Inc. I was the Founder and initial investor of the Company in 2006. At the date I resigned, on December 31, 2011, the Company had $28 million of cash, $192 million in total assets and $81 million in total equity. On August 31, 2017, the Company was sold to a third party for $825 million.

Beginning in 2004 and continuing through October 2013, I was Founder, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Cornerstone Realty Fund, Inc. (the “Company). The Company was started to acquire industrial warehouse buildings throughout the United States but due to the 2008 global financial crisis, I later saw the need to sell the industrial buildings and shift the focus of the Company to acquiring healthcare real estate. This shift in focus was somewhat unprecedented but proved to be very rewarding for the Company. The Company entered the healthcare real estate business in 2011 and in October, 2013, changed its name to Summit Healthcare Reit, Inc. I was the Founder and initial investor of the Company in 2004. As of September 30, 2013, just prior to my resignation, the Company had $17 million in cash, $84 million in total assets and $37 million of total equity.

Section 3. FINRA Fine And Online Reputational Damage

I had been a licensed stockbroker since the early 1980’s. In 2009, as a result of legal malpractice, that is, lawyer error on the part of a nationally recognized law firm that I had hired, my business and I were fined by FINRA in the amount of $750,000.

FINRA is a self-regulatory membership organization consisting of licensed stockbrokers. FINRA is not a governmental agency. I broke no laws, nor was I ever accused by anyone of ever breaking any laws.

The fine was large because it was relative to the dollar volume of the various related businesses. Since FINRA can only fine stockbrokers, not lawyers or anyone else, I was stuck with the bill and the associated reputational damage. This was a gross injustice to me personally and to my companies.

I remained a licensed stockbroker in good standing with FINRA both before and after paying the fine. Years after paying the fine, I ultimately decided to change the focus of my business and I cancelled my stockbrokers license with FINRA.

The negative online reputational damage associated with my name is actually advertisements from third-party law firms and other vendors hoping to attract potential customers because of the fine I paid to FINRA.

These online law firm and vendor advertisements are simply misleading the public in hopes of gaining business for themselves and actually know nothing about me or the true facts of the legal malpractice which caused me to pay the fine.
